Opportunities and challenges for on-grid solar in Sub-Saharan countries

After South Africa pioneering the on-grid solar project market on the continent, there have been several announcements on new project developments in Sub-Saharan countries in recent months. With quickly decreasing module prices, the incentive to go solar improves as well. However, many of the planned projects have not been realized due to financing issues and other challenges.

The 90 minute webinar, organised by SolarPower Europe and supported by RECP, included presentations from players active in Africa providing their business experience of on-grid solar energy sector in Sub-Saharan countries. You can download the webinar full presentation here.
