This event took place on the 14th of December in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was organised by the European Biomass Association (AEBIOM) as part of a collaboration with the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP). Logistical support was provided by Lietuvos biomasės energetikos asociacija (LITBIOMA).
This event focused on potential areas for business in both the solid bioenergy and biogas sectors in Africa, with an emphasis on collaboration possibilities between European and African partners. There were speakers from both Europe and Africa, providing a range of experiences from both continents and highlighting opportunities in Africa as well as optimal areas for joint ventures. There were presentations by LITBIOMA, AEBIOM, the RECP as well as from European companies with experience doing business in the bioenergy sector in Africa and African project developers and entrepreneurs, with local knowledge.
This was an interactive event during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion with the presenters, both during a panel discussion and during networking breaks.
There was an emphasis on sharing experiences and the RECP, in addition to demonstrating how it works, presented some successful project examples. Lunch was provided, during which there were ample networking opportunities.
