Africa Energy Forum 2025

For its 27th edition, the 2025 Africa Energy Forum (AEF) will be taking place in Cape Town (South Africa) on 17-20 June. Hosted under the theme “Africa United”, AEF 2025 will serve as a strong platform for the continent’s stakeholders to come together in the heart of one of the most active energy development centres in Africa. 

As part of the conference, on Wednesday 18 June (11:00-12:30 SAST) GET.invest will organise a 90-minute boardroom aimed at both European and African private sector players and Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) working on critical transmission infrastructures. 

The boardroom will equip attendees with actionable insights, facilitating practical discussions to foster Africa’s energy infrastructure goals. In that regard, it aligns with the objectives of the African Single Electricity Market (AfSEM) and the Continental Master Plan (CMP), underpinned by the European Union’s Global Gateway strategy. To encourage active participation and the generation of concrete outcomes, the session will adopt an open moderated discussion format, designed to foster a dynamic and solution-oriented dialogue. The stage will be set thanks to a keynote speech from a representative from the EU Delegation to South Africa on investment support through the Global Gateway, followed by a presentation from a representative from the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) on the implementation of the AfSEM and the CMP.
