Lesotho is working to accelerate progress towards universal energy access and strengthen energy security, supported by significant renewable energy potential and growing momentum for sector reform and investment.
The Lesotho Energy Access Dialogue (LEAD) returns in 2026 for its second edition, convening policymakers, development partners, private sector representatives and financiers to accelerate renewable energy deployment and unlock new opportunities for collaboration and investment in Lesotho’s energy sector.
The event will serve as a platform to share information on project opportunities, concrete implementation pathways and available financing mechanisms, while also identifying policy and regulatory reforms needed to address implementation gaps. By convening key stakeholders from across the energy ecosystem, LEAD aims to foster partnerships and cooperation that can help translate opportunities into tangible projects.
LEAD 2026 is organised by the Department of Energy of Lesotho, the NUL Energy Research Centre and GET.invest Lesotho. The conference is supported by Renewable Lesotho — a joint Team Europe initiative of the EU Delegation to Lesotho, Germany and other partners.
Further details on the programme will be available soon.
