Burundi Energy Access Days 2022

Under the patronage of the Government of Burundi, the Burundian Ministry of Hydraulics, Energy and Mines (MHEM) and the Directorate General of Energy, the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and Burundi Renewable Energy Association (BUREA), with the support of GET.invest Burundi, and in collaboration with the World Bank will organize the two-day Burundi Energy Access Days on 4 and 5 October 2022 in Bujumbura.

Two separate events will take place on these 2 days:

On 4 October, a Round Table on Universal Access to Electricity in Burundi will gather public sector stakeholders such as government representatives, electrification agencies, technical and financial partners as well as the private sector to discuss the strategy adopted by the government and development partners through the Energy Sector working group to achieve universal energy access by 2030, and to collect pledges of commitments from the technical and financial partners to accompany its implementation. The Round Table is hosted by the World Bank.

On 5 October, the Burundi Renewable Energy Day will bring together private sector stakeholders such as national and international investors and project developers. The aim of the day is to highlight investments and projects in the renewable energy sector in Burundi.

The Burundi Renewable Energy Day is hosted by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and Burundi Renewable Energy Association (BUREA), with the support of GET. invest Burundi which is funded by the European Union and part of GET.invest.
