Lesotho’s challenging terrain complicates efforts to provide universal energy access, despite its significant untapped renewable energy potential. Effectively harnessing this potential could help address the country’s energy access gap in a sustainable and affordable manner.
The second edition of Lesotho Energy Access Dialogue (LEAD) supports national efforts to address energy access challenges and strengthen the renewable energy market by promoting renewable energy technologies and projects in Lesotho.
Under the theme “Moving from Commitments to Action,” LEAD 2026 will convene policymakers, development partners, private sector actors, financiers, researchers and energy practitioners to accelerate renewable energy deployment and advance Lesotho’s energy transition.
The event will feature:
- Interactive expert-led sessions addressing key trends and practical solutions in energy access
- A lively exhibition showcasing innovative renewable energy technologies and services
- invest matchmaking sessions facilitating partnerships and investment opportunities
LEAD 2026 is organised by the Department of Energy of Lesotho, the NUL Energy Research Centre and GET.invest Lesotho.
The event is supported by Renewable Lesotho — a joint Team Europe initiative of the European Union Delegation to Lesotho, Germany and other partners.
