Global African Hydrogen Summit 2025

Namibia
09.09.2025 - 11.09.2025

GET.invest will share expert insights at the Global African Hydrogen Summit 2025 (GAH2S), taking place from 9 to 11 September at the Windhoek International Convention Centre, Namibia. The event is hosted by the Government of Namibia, endorsed by the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy of Namibia, and organised in partnership with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) and the Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme (NGH2P).

Held under the motto ‘Ambition in Action: Fuelling Africa’s Green Industrial Revolution’, the Summit will bring together ministers, business leaders, project developers, investors, technologists and industry experts from across Africa and the world. Attendees can expect a comprehensive programme, including masterclasses, strategic conferences, leadership roundtables, project investment discussions and a large-scale international exhibition.

On 9 September, GET.invest will host one of the four GAH2S masterclasses, delving into Bankability and Offtake in the Hydrogen Market. Led by GET.invest Finance Catalyst Paul van Aalst and Gregor Paterson, the topics of this masterclass include an overview of hydrogen’s global role in the energy transition, bankability of hydrogen projects from feasibility to final investment decision, designing bankable offtake agreements, and project risks and mitigation across the lifecycle.

On 10-11 September, GET.invest will present sector insights alongside three of its donors – the European Union, Germany and the Netherlands, GIZ Namibia, and our sister programmes GET.transform and the Green Hydrogen Business Alliance (H2BA) at the European Union pavilion in the exhibition hall. The GET.invest team present will deliver a dedicated series of presentations, including:

  1. Pathways to Financing Hydrogen Projects in Emerging Markets (10 September, 12:00-13:00 CAT)
  2. Financing Green Hydrogen Projects – Examples from Namibia and South Africa (11 September, 12:00-13:00 CAT)

This diverse programme positions the EU pavilion booth as a vibrant knowledge-sharing hub where visitors can connect with experts and gain insights from a broad network of partners shaping Africa’s green hydrogen future.
