Description
The Electrification Financing Initiative (ElectriFI) is an EU-funded specialist blended financing facility for renewable energy companies active in on- and off-grid emerging markets. ElectrFi provides senior, junior and mezzanine debt to companies across emerging markets in Africa, Asia and the Pacific.

Technical assistance
EDFI covers up to 75% of the total cost of the technical assistance projects. EDFI MC investees can benefit from EDFI MC technical assistance support up to the lower of (a) 10% of the EDFI MC investment and (b) an amount of EUR 100 000.

EDFI Management Company (EDFI MC), established in 2016 on behalf of the Association of Bilateral European Development Finance Institutions (EDFI) members, provides development finance solutions that enable European DFIs and private sector companies to increase the scale and impact of their investments. Through a blended finance facility EDFI MC provides early-stage businesses operating in developing countries with equity and long-term debt financing.
