6th ARE Energy Access Investment Forum

From 17-18 March 2021, the Alliance for Rural Electrification will organise the 6th ARE Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF) in Lusaka/Zambia, supported by GET.invest. The Forum will convene public and private stakeholders to push the frontiers of clean energy access in rural areas, particularly in Africa, where 95% of the rural population is still without access to safe and sustainable energy sources.

EAIF is a well-established political exchange and business event organised in cooperation with local and regional partners. Forum participants will have the chance to:

  • showcase innovative off-grid solutions, products and services to potential investors;
  • present forthcoming funding and de-risking programmes and other policy initiatives;
  • discuss majors sector trends in the off-grid markets in Africa.

GET.invest supports the event and will offer a GET.invest Matchmaking Session. The session will provide attendees with the opportunity to discuss business with potential investors and partners in a series of select personal meetings. GET.invest will also be holding a roundtable event on the 18th to discuss how to overcome market development barriers of de-central renewable energy financing, provide a better understanding of EU and EU instruments to support the market development of de-central renewable energy and showcase the best practices on mini-grid and solar home system business approaches.

The 6th EAIF will be in keeping with the successful legacy of its previous editions and bring participants up to speed on the latest developments in the off-grid sector. The forum will also see the next round of the ARE Awards. The awards, led by the Alliance for Rural Electrification, recognise the clean energy access results of the most passionate and innovative actors in the sector.
