Update: The Renewables in Mozambique 2020 conference has been postponed to a later date in the year due to covid-19.
ALER’s primary concern is with the health of all participants, not only during the event but also during the travels necessary to get there. For this reason and to avoid any extra risks and uncomfortable situations due to the imposition of preventative measures such as quarantine periods. Secondly, the main objective of the conference is to bring together the most relevant stakeholders in the renewable sector in Mozambique so that they can share information for the further development of projects. Given the current situation, many participants would be unable to join us at the conference thus jeopardizing the aim of the event.
For these reasons the conference organisers, together with its’ partners have made the decision to postpone the event until later in the year.
From the 23-25 March 2020, the Lusophone Association for Renewable Energy (ALER) and the Mozambican Renewable Energy Association (AMER) will organise the “Renewables in Mozambique 2020” Conference in Maputo, Mozambique, in partnership with SolarPower Europe and the Alliance for Rural Electrification.
The conference aims to raise awareness and provide further information about renewable energy investment opportunities in Mozambique for the private sector, present ongoing initiatives from the government, address key issues for private sector renewable energy sector investment in Mozambique, and create a more dynamic and competitive renewable energy market in Mozambique.
GET.invest is supporting ALER and AMER in the organisation of the event, together with Energising Development (EnDev) and the Green People’s Energy for Africa initiative.
Attendees will have the chance to join GET.invest matchmaking sessions committed to providing participants with a unique opportunity to connect with potential business partners, investors, relevant policymakers and experts through a series of select personal meetings. There will also be prospects for attendees to become better informed about investment opportunities and for members of the public sector to become more aware of the benefits of working with the private sector. Topics covered at the conference will range from on and off-grid markets to clean-cooking and productive uses of energy.
GET. invest will be present with team members and GET.invest Finance Catalyst advisers, who will welcome inquiries about how to access financing to scale up business operations as well as available European financial and technical support.
