Nyamu Githaka

Nyamu Githaka is an energy and infrastructure legal specialist with over 15 years of experience delivering renewable energy and utility-scale infrastructure projects across sub-Saharan Africa. Nyamu has a strong track record of enabling financeable, climate-resilient infrastructure across Africa.

He specializes in project structuring, public-private partnerships (PPPs), regulatory affairs, and investment facilitation with a focus on blended finance and public-private collaboration.

Nyamu has advised various government agencies in Kenya, Zambia, Uganda and Mozambique. He has also provided counsel for private developers and Lenders on wind, solar, hydro, bio-fuels and geothermal projects. He has led negotiations for Project Development and Project Finance Agreements and overseen land access management, project development, permitting and regulatory compliance to ensure bankability and timely execution.

His institutional experience spans both private and public organizations including Industrial Promotion Services -AKFED, Africa Oil PLC, Ndola Energy, KenGen, Safaricom and Kenya’s President’s Delivery Unit.

Nyamu holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Sunderland. He is an Advocate, a Notary Public and a Member of the London Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
