Europe-Mozambique Investment Forum: Renewables in Mozambique 2021
From 22 to 23 March, the Lusophone Renewable Energy Association (ALER) and the Mozambican Renewable Energy Association (AMER), in cooperation with GET.invest, will organise the Europe-Mozambique Investment Forum: Renewables in Mozambique 2021. The event is organised in partnership with the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), the Global Association for the Off-Grid Solar Energy Industry (GOGLA) and Solar Power Europe (SPE).
The Forum will feature relevant players from the sector, who will provide an overview of the renewable energy sector in Mozambique. Investment opportunities and initiatives recently launched by the Mozambican Government and its cooperation partners will be presented in interactive virtual sessions.
The event will kick-off with high-level round tables, introducing the general framework of the sector and each of the market segments, namely Independent Power Producers (IPP), mini-grids, solar home systems and clean cooking. The most relevant speakers from public and private sector entities operating in Mozambique, such as MIREME, ARENE, EDM, FUNAE, the EU and other cooperation partners and companies with projects in the country will participate in the discussions. In the afternoon, virtual GET.invest Matchmaking sessions will facilitate contacts between the various participants and boost new partnerships and business endeavours.
Debates will be based on the presentation of the “Briefing: Renewables in Mozambique 2021”, a document developed by ALER and AMER with the support of GET.invest, to be launched prior to the Forum. The document compiles most relevant and up-to-date market information on the Mozambican renewable energy sector. All participants who register for the Forum will have early access to the document and can submit questions to the speakers in advance of the event.
The event will offer simultaneous interpretation in Portuguese and English. Registration is mandatory and will open in early February.
The Forum will be followed by the Seminar ‘Opportunities for IPP – Renewables in Mozambique 2021’, taking place on 24 March. More information is available here.
