Description
BII Plus works with industry stakeholders to develop and test solutions to address business challenges or uncover opportunities. BII Plus provides reimbursable and matching grants requiring grantee contribution to businesses in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean working in various market segments including independent power producers, captive power, energy efficiency, energy for productive use and stand-alone solar systems. BII Plus focuses on projects that shape the private sector’s approach to themes such as gender equality, climate change, job quality and human capital.

BII is a member of 2X Global. Applicants that meet or exceed the 2X criteria are especially encouraged to apply:
  • 51% women ownership or the business is founded by a woman

Technical assistance
BII Plus is BII’s technical assistance and support facility. The facility is funded by FCDO, and is intended to support BII’s pipeline and portfolio companies, as well as the wider market in Africa and Asia.
