The SolarPower Summit 2024 will bring together 450 high-level industry representatives and decision makers from across the EU and beyond to discuss the major strategic, political, and market developments shaping the future of solar in Europe.

Throughout the rich and diverse programme of the 2-day event, GET.invest is supporting and engaging in various activities on Tuesday, 5 March:

9:30-10:45 – Hydrogen in Africa – opportunities for investment and cooperation with the EU. This session will look at investment opportunities, identifying off takers and exploring the tools and funding available to support the development of renewable hydrogen at scale in sub-Saharan Africa. The session will also focus on the partnerships between the EU and African countries on RH2.

11:15-12:30 – Manufacturing and Critical Raw Materials – opportunities for supply chain integration between the EU and Africa. Focusing on how the European Commission can cooperate with sub-Saharan African countries on CRM and manufacturing through win-win partnerships, the session will also highlight the opportunities for investment in establishing manufacturing bases in Africa for European companies (OEMs and distributors).

14:00-15:00 – Emerging solar markets – tracking changes and spotting opportunities for investments in Africa. Trends and opportunities in Africa for larger ticket investments in the C&I and utility-scale space. The session will also flag the tools and funds available to companies to de-risk these investments and take advantage of the possibilities that African markets offer.
16:30-17:30 – COP 28 and a global renewables target. The session will investigate how European funds under the Global Gateway such as the NDICI and the EFSD+ can be leveraged to achieve the tripling of global renewable capacity, and the strategic significance of this target for the EU. It will also seek to demystify the EU funding landscape for project developers with an interest in emerging markets globally and particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, via GET.invest and the Team Europe One Stop Shop.

The SolarPower Summit 2024 will take place in Brussels on 4-5 March, and is organised by SolarPower Europe and supported by GET.invest, among others.
